Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Db2 Console team is seeking an extremely talented and self-motivated technical professional who can build powerful browser-based administrative and developer tools for Db2 databases. The candidate will be responsible implementation of user interfaces that present complex yet powerful Db2 administering and monitoring capabilities through an intuitive set of visual displays that resonate well with DBAs. The role requires the ability to read and comprehend architecture design and design layout for the user interface and working on the implementation and testing of the design. The implementation involves writing REST APIs in GoLang/Java, UI in React, Redux, Javascript, scripting using Python and Shell. The candidate will be responsible for performing the unit testing, Functional Verification Testing and also participate in System and Performance testing efforts. The candidate must possess effective communication skills to engage in technical discussions with the architects, leads and teammates.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of overall experience
  • Experience in designing, developing and testing robust products with unmatched quality goals
  • Experience or theoretical understanding of implementing RESTful APIs
  • Experience in building software based on client server architecture
  • Ability to multi-task across two or more projects at a time
  • Highly motivated and responsible for self-learning
  • Willingness to learn new technologies on the go
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Java, Golang, Python, Linux, Shell scripting
  • Experience in front-end development: Javascript, CSS, frameworks such as React.js

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Relational database knowledge: Db2 / Oracle / SQL Server
  • Awareness of open standards and specifications
  • Track record of open-source contributions
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and micro-services develop.
  • Cognitive skills in AI & ML skills to build recommenders in the tools
